Evil car... it seemed fast at the time but my 9000 is equally fast and better in every possible way. And no, I don't think the floor is a good place for any electrical component!
Two other interesting tidbits:
Has anyone else here experienced a car with a floor-mounted *windshield washer* thingy? Back when I used to fix German cars for a living, we saw a few very old Mercedes cars with that. There was a floor-mounted rubber bulb mounted under a pivoting sheet-metal cover for protection, and that was the washer pump... there were no electrical components in the system.
And in my mechanic life before that one, I actually got to work on an ancient pickup truck (a Chevy I think) that had a floor-mounted *starter* pedal! There was no starter relay or solenoid... the pedal was linked to a big knife-switch-like thing on the back of the starter that switched the battery current directly. I don't recall the age of the truck but I think it was from the '30's or '40's.
