Our current machines are GE Profile Performance Wizard which was the top of the line stuff, apparently, back in 2003 when we bought them at a ridiculous discount through my employer. I think GE was dumping that line about that time so they got rid of them for under $1000 for the pair.
They came with a 10 year bumper-to-bumper warranty (!) on every part in them. We've had about six service calls on the washer and dryer, total, over that 10 years so the included warranty was great. Now that they're out of warranty, they're not worth fixing (drum and circuit going bad on the washer; dryer starting to tear up stuff).
Anything that I buy now will have to include an extended warranty because a service visit is $100 just to show up.
