Ending up buying a pair of LGs through Costco: a WT1701CW top load washer (with TurboWash! -- unsure if it's a 2.0L or not) along with a DLGY1702W gas dryer.

The price was right, we get 2% back for being Costco Executive member snobs, and all the ratings said these were top quality products. Plus, Costco doubles the one-year manufacturers warranty.

Was going to pull the trigger on a GE washer and dryer combo but I just couldn't do it from a quality standpoint after having GE in my house since it was built new in 2003. We replaced the dishwasher, fridge, and microwave 18 months ago almost exactly at the 10 year mark and we're simply not happy with GE's internal design and quality anymore. Time to try a new brand, etc.

I sincerely appreciate all the valuable input from Saabnet posters! You guys are as good as it gets!
