That's the point, he HAS three kids--huge difference from one or two. And yes, you can get them in a conventional car/wagon, I'm not disputing that. We had a Chevette with our two kids, hell, we got them all in a TR4 for a while. What makes a minivan worth the trade-offs is the EASE with which you can do it. Been there, done that, and I have grand children that age. Hauling three kids and all the goes with them, getting them in and out, buckling them up, etc. is a royal pain. With a minivan you walk up with a kid in one arm, a diaper bag over the shoulder and a toddler by the hand. You hit a button and this huge barn door slides open. You just walk right into this thing and plunk them into big roomy seats, and there's plenty of room to buckle them in--it's all just so easy breezy. Yeah, I like handling, but how much of a factor is it really in the urban/sub-urban driving most people do? From the day they're born to the day they go off to college or where-ever, children are a boat load of toil and trouble (but a lot of fun too). Why complicate your life by trying to squeeze them into a sardine can? All I'm trying to say is that there is a better way.
