It was interesting how it dovetailed with what Mr. Sinclair said to me all those years ago. However, I don't feel any duty to buy and consume. (That way taken to the absurd extreme leads to scenarios such as that found in Frederik Pohl's 1954 story "The Midas Plague.")
Frankly I think that GM starving Saab for new product for a long period of time had a worse effect on sales than cheapskates such as myself sticking with used cars. The only advantage of the General doing that is the GM-era models were produced for so long that good used parts should be available for some time.
