I saw a movie last night about Giuseppe Marinoni, a revered Canadian bicycle framebuilder (Canadian cyclist Snowmobile may appreciate this) who decided to go after the over 75 age group world hour record (how far you can ride on a track in an hour). This after he had serious health problems from welding fumes. Great flick, inspiring. I'm nearly 66, if I have to leave my property it will be to wherever they take me after they put on the straightjacket....:).
That's not entirely serious, but my goal is to stay active as long as possible, which includes working (I don't need to keep working but I love my work and don't want to retire) and trying to keep in top physical shape ( I am also a cyclist and am riding better than in many years). Of course you need to be flexible and make the right decision under the circumstance, but I am putting my efforts into staying independent.
You guys planning for assisted living in your 50s are scaring me!
