Okay, after I graduated university with a Bachelor degree, I worked for about a year and a half. Nearing the first year of my employment, I thought that I was railroaded in a bad job, with little potential for advancement. I figured that since the job market was poor at the time, I would go back to school in the hope of finding something I liked doing. Now that I've been in grad school for about a year, I realize that I should have stuck it out at work, and been on the lookout for a job in a different field. I don't regret going to grad school, since I thought that a teaching job might be right for me, and I wouldn't have known that research isn't something that I really dislike if I hadn't made this decision.
The long and short of it (based on my own personal experience) would be to go to grad school only if you want to do that sort of thing as a career (ie. research, teching, etc) or if it is the means to something greater. Do not go simply because you cannot find another job.
Hope that helps!
