Way OT: Gas or charcoal???

Well, our grill has finally cooked its last meal. I guess the harsh winter, etc got to it, and the fornt control panel rusted clean off the bottom of the cast iron cooking vessel, which has also lost its bottom to rust. I was successful in using a screwdriver in the venturi's to control the gas, so i could get the london broil done. But I reckon its not terribly safe to do that.
We have natural gas, so a new gas grill would be a natural choice.
BUT...
I love charcoal grilling. So I was out today, and saw the Weber Performer Gas grill, with the little propane tank to light the briquettes, the bin to hold the extra charcoal, etc. And a stainless tray, etc. It has a decent size (400 sq in) grate. Seemed different, and would let me cook with charcoal again. But the easy way.
My other choice - a Weber Silver C, 424 sq in grate, with sideburner. I would prefer the Gold C, but its abot 500 bucks more for this all stainless variation.
The charcoal has a ten year warranty, and I like that I can roll it over to the pool side of the yard. The Silver and Gold both have lifetime. But they can't be moved. But the charcaol is a basic unit, so repairs should be cheap and easy.
Anyone have any experience with either of these? Our one that died was a Falcon, cast iron unit by CharBroil. Falcon is no longer around.
