I just moved from Arizona and the freeway speed limit is 75mph, out in the desert in the summer in Nevada when no one else is on the road and it's 130' out I drive wit between 100 mph and 130 mph depending on the wind. Use Castrol 10w30 and AC Delco air-and oil filters and change the oil every 3k miles. never had any engine problems and all had over 100k on them when I bought them 3 from 84,87,90'16 valve turbo 5 spd. If you have an automatic you get a lot more engine oil temp. and I did'ent see where you mentioned that. Would'ent have an auto anyway. I pulled one apart with a friend that was doing his trans. at 330k miles and the bearings were scuffed a bit.Your getting dirt in your oil system somewhere, K&N filters don't filter til a stock one is ready to throw away, the dirtier they get the better they filter, not for me. Drive like hell and they'll take you to heaven,,,,Keith
