My '02 95 sedan is coming off lease - had an interesting offer from saab financial to keep it at same rate indefineatly - as in they really don't want it back, do I want to be lazy and keep it another month? Month-to-month offer was somewhat appealing considering it's going back to them with just a hair over 20k miles and 4 new tires (gack). If the thing hadn't been out of service 30 days the first year of lease and if all the electrical wasn't going funny (trunk/gas cap won't open so I can't "close" them). It's been especially fun to crawl through back seat to open trunk when there's a dog in the back seat and a trunk full of groceries in the trunk - I do love the glow in the dark release though!
Anyhow, lots of 95 wagons out there - even managed to find an Arc wagon with a man trans - have heard (could also be dealer BS) that there are maybe 25 of them in the country. Seems weird to me. Didn't like that I had to pay more for things that were standard in my 02 linear sedan - really didn't like that onstar wasn't available on anything I looked at - OK, I never would have thought I'd miss it - but I will. I'll also miss my hands-free calling, I can't believe the linear comes standard now without fog-lights and without heated seats, no sunroof either! It reaks to me of cheap, cheap, cheap! Put back Onstar, put back the formally standard equipment and see what that does for your bottomline.
I was initially looking at the trailblazer ext - and I hate to say it dollar for feature the chevy had a better pricetag. If not for the gas prices and the uncertainty there I would have gone SUV (would have been my first) and I would have foglights and onstar - OK an auto trans on an inline 8 - which ain't nothing to sneeze at if I could have found something else for my left foot to do :-)
So I take delivery on Monday - it'll be a much better dog mobile, than my 95 sedan - I can't say I'm thrilled about getting it - paying more for less in a lot of senses - but the sedan just doesn't work anymore with two big dogs and all of their "gear"....
