I found at fleabay and couldn't resist a copy of a Saab service manual titled 2:7 Engine management system Trionic OBD II M 1996-.
On page 7 it specifies the spark plug gap should be 1.0 mm +0.1 -0.0. In English that is no smaller than 0.0394" and no greater than .04334".
That is a significantly narrower range than we see elsewhere. I'm staying at .038" for now. I might bump it to .040" next oil change.
