There's no way of knowing. I'm not sure, however, that it helps to ask a question for which there is no way of knowing. I can't say I'm entirely convinced that the current warming data are supportive of the currently-proposed model. However, the alternative model, proposed by detractors, of normal warming and cooling cycles, lacks any kind of structure or sophistication. And we know that oceanic and atmospheric changes are extremely complex. What I mean is that just saying heating and cooling cycles is not nearly enough. That's like saying we could send a manned mission to Mars successfully if we take advantage of the slingshot effect. Fine, but let's have some detail here, or we're not going to make it, right?

The other thing is - what if we do nothing and the predictions come true. What then? I'd like to see some proposals of what to do then, or at least have someone say that such an outcome will have minimal impact. We can all move inland, yeah, and we didn't really need Holland after all, etc.
