The problem here is incompetent or inadequately trained technicians. Not the product. AW trannies are some of the best. I would start with resetting the transmission adaptation. Your dealer should be helping you get the answers from GM, not hindering you. If they swapped the tranny and it still does the same thing, doesn't that rule out 80% of the potential issues?
Sounds like the diagnosis just needs to be finished. This problem could be on a toyota or lexus, however I imagine a Lexus dealer would FINISH the job. Your car is a hopped up Pontiac. Nothing from space or anything. GM just does not provide the customer service that Toyota does, maybe that's why Saab looses money every year. Sorry to hear about your experience, but the car is broken and can be FIXED if someone has the will to do it
