Pretty sure a Tech2 is much better, especially for non engine stuff like locks, CIM etc.
I have one of the clones (which I think did come from chinacardiags). The connectors to the Candi box were terrible and I had to open it up to fix the LCD connections to get it to work reliably. The vendor was not very helpful. That being done it is reliable now but there is probably some risk of getting a non functional unit if you buy one - with very limited recourse.
You probably need to get security access working for best results if you want to change modules. This was painful to get working even on an older laptop. Make sure you have the correct software before you install the patch.
I am a bit surprised there are not more Tech2's on the used marked with the demise of most cars they would be useful on.
