Thanks for the help in understanding, I am still a bit confused which maybe will clear itself up with the Tech2 (and accessories) in hand. The chinacardiags kit includes the "candi" and the tis2000 modules. I think the tis2000 is for security access, and is it true it is the pcmcia module? If so I may need to dig up an old laptop I can use for that, since maybe the Tech2 itself doesn't accept it? Is that right? Or can the card be inserted directly in the Tech2? But basically all the components would be in this kit?

I saw on other threads phil94028 indicating he ran it in a virtual WinXP environment under Linux (maybe using wine?) I am also a Linux guy so this may not be too difficult to set up if necessary.

With my son loving the 9-3 I suspect we will have some form of saab around for years to come and I do as much as I can myself so it would be helpful to have the tool.
