Thanks again for the explanations. I have in hand now the full kit, including the DB9-RJ45 cable. I am not sure what components are needed for the various tasks, so maybe let me start with the basics:

1. Checking a CEL light code (and resetting).

2. Programming a new key fob.

For both items above if you are willing could you post the basic physical connection needed. Example: for checking a CEL, take Tech2 with PCM card installed in it, and plug to candi? and plug that to the diagnostic port.

They also included a "GoDiag J2534 Nano (usb on one end, diag port on the other). This may be to plug directly to a computer, not using the Tech 2?

I will try some things, but documentation is absent so going in the dark here. Maybe there is a saab specific Tech 2 guide out there somewhere?
