I got it out and tested it Posted by adl6009 [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Now its a 13 code-Will hitting it with a hammer A. fix the problem, or B. Just make me feel bett, pme ![]() ![]() |
I plugged it in and ran the test cycle and the motor ran slowly back and forth. I manually moved the connecting rod and it seemed to move smoothly and I believe it actuated whatever it moves inside the housing. (Also got a 14 acc code, no mechanical connection between motor and flap, that's good because the motor wasn't installed and the car read it correctly.) The arm inside the hvac unit that the motor drives look good. I could not see any cracks and the rod moves smoothly.
The drive shaft does look a little bit extended, it is not up against the plastic housing, see photo.
The gap is about 1/16 on an inch.
I tried to compress the shaft in a vice but it didn't move. I don't know if such a small displacement of the shaft would disengage it from the slot it fits in.
I guess I order the motor and see if that fixes it.
Thanks for the help.
