Scott,
I think I will be repeating what others have said but here goes:
1. Yes, I would purchase another 9-5 if I had the chance. I currently own a 2000 9-5 Aero wagon and just helped a relative this weekend purchase a 2001 9-5 base sedan with all the options. 28.7K miles, with the ventilated seats, On-Star, BBS Saab Aero rims and AT for $14.9k!
2. Like the others said, I would probably stay clear of ANY first year model rollout. The bugs have not be found to be worked out.
3. Comparing the non vs. ventilated seats, shape wise they seem the same to me and are comparable in comfort until you use the ventilated option. They are great on a hot day! Much more comfortable and cooler on a warm day. The only downside is that the fan is noisy at high speeds. On long trips, the Saab seats seem the most comfortable that I have ever used and that include comparing them to previous Mercedes, Mazdas, Fords, Chevys and Nissans that I have owned in the past.
4. The Saab 4-cylinder engine may not be as smooth as say the Japanese competitors but it is at least smoother than many domestics and certainly my old Mercedes 190E 2.3.
5. Like others have said, if a dealer provides tinting services, I would expect it coming from an outside vendor source. I do not know of any dealership in my area that does tinting on site. Most of the aftermarket tinting shops provide a lifetime warranty on their work and the effects of bubbling with the tint. Speaking as another sales professional, my customers definitely like my car without the image issues associated with my previous Mercedes. Good luck with your purchase. I think you and your customers will be very happy.
Ben
