(1) Without any doubt at all. I just got mine back from the body shop (an uninsured 19 year old on rain-slicked streets hit me from behind at a stop light). The car was in the shop for two weeks and I came very close to buying another just because I missed mine so. I came to the 9-5 from an Infiniti I-35, which is just a tarted up Maxima. Couldn't be happier. There is just enough extra room to make it much more comfortable, and the driving experience is really much nicer (the steering is really heavy on the I-35 compared with the Saab). In fact my wife is considering selling her I-35 to get another Saab.
(2) Buy now, the car is well sorted out and the deals are fantastic.
(3) Long trips are a dream. The seats are very supportive and adjust to fit (me, at least) very well. Power is great and the controls are arranged in a logical way which I find intuitive. The only downside compared with the I-35 is the stereo; even with the CD changer it is less convenient than the Infiniti.
(4) Vibration at idle is sometimes noticeable, not annoying but still noticeable. But a slight adjustment on the throttle is all that is needed and the "problem" goes away.
(5) No idea.
