I had it powdercoated in a color they called "Porsche Silver". I thought that it would be easier to keep clean this way. We'll see how it holds up to heat....IF I EVER GET THIS CAR STARTED!!!
To any of the other guys who have been nice enough to help me with info, Jeff, Justin, Zig, I'm trying to go thru things in an itelligent manner. I'm not an "electrical kinda guy" so this will go a bit slow. I'm changing out a few of the questionable parts, ie: new ignition switch, (electrical part of the setup), new ignition amplifier. The wires, cap, rotor and plugs are new. I've rung out all the grounds in the engine bay. They are all functioning properly. I've yet to try the other ECU from the '91. I'll wait until I've checked and re-checked eveything that's within my ability to check, and installed the other parts I've mentioned above. If I cannot find success after that, I'm towing it to the Saab mechanic and letting him deal with it. As I said, I will try until I'm out of ideas. Sometimes it takes a better man to admit when something is not within the scope of his, (my!) ability. By week's end it will either be running or on it's way to the REAL Saab mechanic........Bob, (hey, I'm a bodyman, not a mechanic. Whaadda ya want from me!?!?) :)
