I believe I finally found the culprit. As suggested by many people I believe the Air Mass Meter is the problem. According to the manual the engine needs to be warmed up in order to make a check on it or it says to make sure the wire isn't broken. The engine won't run so I couldn't do the first check and the wire isn't broken. Also the manual says that if the sensor goes bad the car should go in limp home mode. Well maybe if the wire breaks that would be true but in this case it isn't. Maybe there is a dead short in it somewhere; there are six wires going to it but the book doesn't explain what they do or how to check them. When I leave the wire harness unhooked from the AMM the engine starts, idles and runs very well. I would expect that the gas mileage and emissions probably wouldn't do real well but it sure starts and runs well. So the KEY NOTE to learn from this is that "another test to do on the AMM is to disconnect it and try starting/running the car". If the manual would have said to do this I would have found it much, much sooner. Thank you everyone for your input.
