I tried jiggling this connector a bit, and I looked at the wire (which looked okay) then tried to find the other end of the wire..... it runs into some bundles so I am not sure where it goes..??? but I did disconnect-then-reconnect the fitting and while it still will not start, I am hopeful I can find a replacement connector and wire that in.... certainly worth the effort! Does anyone know what this connector might be called? (To help in parts search.)
