Hello,
Yes that Stabilant 22A is some good stuff. Saab used to supply us with Kontakt 61 which worked well too. But I haven't seen that Kontakt 61 for about 20 years. Back to the battery cables I know sometimes that the brass type positive terminal that Saab used can have a very hard corrosion on the battery terminal contact area. I often use a large reamer to get them back to a clean surface. But that is usually for a charging/starting issue.
But the reason this came to me today was the negative cable on my 1993 looked rough were it attaches to the transmission. I had no problems but had purchased replacement cables for it last summer. I replaced it and split the insulation to check the cable inside since it was going in the scrap pile anyway. The larger lead going to the trans was ugly and discolored inside and the smaller one going to the rad support was full of green corrosion powder. Enjoy driving the 79 combi. Good Luck, Bernie
