After sitting for two months waiting for me to get the ambition to
replace the clutch master cylinder, the AIC on my '89 900T is now not
working, resulting in a "hunting" and uneven idle. The car ran
perfectly before the downtime.
Here is what I've done with no improvement:
* Replaced AIC. Pulling AIC connector off when engine running has
no effect.
* Replaced ECM computer
* Soldered and renewed grounds on lifting lug, grounds in the
driver's side fender well, and grounds at the radiator.
* Replaced AMM
* Replaced engine temp sender on intake manifold.
* Tested throttle position switch: pins 1&2 closed at idle and open
when throttle opens. Pulling TPS connector when engine running has
no effect.
I measured the voltage at the AIC connector and it is battery voltage
as Bentley says it should be.
Well, I'm out of ideas. I love this car, but if I can't get it to pass
smog here in CA (which it did not in it's current state), I'm afraid it's
the last roundup for this old cowboy. I've spent time searching past messages
on this board and found no additional clues. Because I live at the beach, I
think it *must* be something corroded somewhere, but where?
If you have any suggestions, ideas, or speculations, please pass them on.
Thank you.
