WHat you do is cut the three wires off the old sensor right at the sensor. Get some crimp connectors for 18-22 awg wire, since the sensor wire is 20 awg. I crimped the three crimp connections to the sensor, staggering them so they'll fit into the plastic sleeve. Cut the first wire about an inch from the sensor and crimp a connector to it. Cut the second wire about 2-3 inches from new sensor and a crimp second connector to it, etc. WIth the connectors crimped to the new sensor wires, hold it up to the old wires and cut them to length, staggered the same as the crimp connectors. You'll need to pull the black sleeve back to do this. I pulled it back and held it back with a zip tie. DOn't crimp the old wires to the sensor yet. You need to install the sensor and it would twist the wires too much. I installed the sensor, and then crimped the old wires to the crimp connections. WIth the connectors staggered it's easy to pull the sleeve over them. I'm referring to butt splice connectors that are used in car stereo installs.
