Thanks. He's focusing on fuel pressure now. He wasn't sure if the spec at 47psi? at idle or another rpm. I will point him to the online WIS which I think he is not familiar with. I did mention that there may not be anything wrong with the car but the white plugs and white coating on the cylinders and valves has him concerned. He believe that it is running lean and hot but the cooling system is controlling it for now. I guess we might assume that he believes it is running towards the limit of lean before it triggers a DTC. He did have plugs at 1.1mm. I recommended 1.0 mm. He might even try NGK copper plugs that are spec'd to see if that matters. It appears that it didn't have this issue approx a year ago. He does his own maintenance ( or maybe has to since most mechanics in his small province may never have worked on a 9000 before.
