Force = mass * acceleration
Maximum engine forces are at the top of the exhaust stroke. The more rapid the piston travel, the higher the force exerted on piston, pins, bearings, etc. Forces are extreme at high rpms. One of the reasons that race engines generally don't last more than one outing - 500 miles or ~ 2 hours.
