Remove the valve cover and see if there's just a lifter or valve stuck. Keep you heart together as I was really, really pissed off at my wife too when we brought the PT Cruiser. She whines about always having a use/second hand car. She said new ones didn't need work on them. So much for that theory. The main thing is your anger won't get it fixed and you knows she sorry! Don't let your anger consume you and her. Time will pass and this will just be a bad memory. Good Luck with each aspect of this rough spot in your life.
