Well I think I asked them everything in that list and more. I also asked about the block. Basically, they said "yes" to everything you had listed. Since they claim to be a machine shop, he said they refinish anything that needs to be cleaned up. He was also going on about some kind of machine when I mentioned compression testing the engine. I think he said they had some kind of machine that measures such things while the engine is actually running outside the car. Some kind of computer gizmo that compares the characteristics to a database of known figures for that engine. They can "watch" the engine run. I don't know if you guys know what this might be all about or if it's a good sign.
The block is as another poster said - used. He said they take in the used block and redo whatever needs to be done to get the block up to par. Again, they said they couldn't fix the damage on my existing block so that's why they are insisting on getting this block from "somewhere in the midwest".
They said the clutch and waterpump would be new but didn't confirm that the clutch would be SAAB oem. Not sure what else to ask on that? I asked to get my old parts back. They said OK. They also said I could come down when I wanted and see the new parts and old parts side by side and take pictures if I want too.
I think I forgot to ask them about replacing all the gaskets. Well, I signed off on the additional charges so it looks like we are moving forward now on this (i hope). I'll keep this thread updated.
