Audi didn't succeed by reducing the number of models... Audi succeeded by creating a wider range of good cars. Saab needs to do the same thing. A 9-3SS sedan is a good, so is a 9-5 Sedan, and a 9-2 hatchback and a 9-2 sedan and convertibles and wagons. That's when you can say Saab is taking a page from the Audi book. But if you're saying that Saab's going to be successful solely by eliminating model range and sticking with 2 sedans and a wagon variant - that's not right either. Saab has more work to do and you're wrong if you think it doesn't include a hatchback since it's already announed for next year.
Also, those drivers that Jason refers to are future sedan purchasers, so don't brush them off. You and Saab wouldn't even be here on this page today if it wasn't for the wildly successful Saab 900 hatchback.
