My parents own a 02 (I think) aero wagon. They/I love it, feels like a new car every time I get in. As far as the dog thing invest in some good throw blankets and just tuck them under the headrest, to protect your leather. We got our car as a former corporate car or whatever, we saved a lot between that and the 1,000 back that they we running at that time as well as the 1,000 back from my saab 900, ownership loyalty.

As far as the safety question, I believe the 9-5 got safest car in Sweden, which would mean it beat out that car that rhymes with Bolvo because I am pretty sure they sell them in Sweden.

As for living in RI we are lucky. Wigwam is a good dealer, a little eccentric. Charles River, is the local powerhouse. They are 2nd and 1st oldest dealerships in the country. If you want an unofficial dealer Accord motors is very reputable.

Oh and about the flip up rear seat available on the Volvos, they are death traps. Saab was going to include those, there are even door locks on the inside, but they pulled the plug when the safety chief saw the Volvos in the crash yard.
