We did an Alaska cruise last year in early July. Temps in Anchorage were mid to upper 70's. I'd recommend it to anyone. I use to travel to Alaska on a regular basis. The summer is very short, so the end of July could be a little cool.
If you decide to go, plan way ahead. I made our arrangements in January. Most cruises are 7 days and the ships go in and out of Vancouver and Seward. I would recommend going north out of Vancouver. The last day of the cruise we went into Prince William sound and the College Fijord. This has 8 glaciers terminating in the waters. It was the best. If you go south, it's the first thing you see.
You'll see some of the most spectacular sights you'll ever see.
