Big trucks are for big payloads and big trailers.
And those that drive them with no basis other than looks - I don't understand it either.

They aren't comfortable, they are a pain to park, getting in and out is leap-and-slide, they aren't fun in traffic, they DO cost a hefty premium to insure, I get 9mpg, parking is limited to the outskirts of the lot, and I do get treated badly by cars that think that everyone in a truck is a cowboy-wannabe with compensation problem.

Just curious - what's a big truck though? I consider my 2500HD a big truck. It has limited usefullness and isn't normally purchased by a person for looks (in my opinion).

Boating
Racing
Camping
Horse
Farm
ATV
Snowmobile
Motorcycle
Collector/Show Car
Landscaping
Contracting
Plowing

That's about it for mine.

Is a Silverado 1500 a big truck?
Ford F150?
Dodge Dakota?
Chev Colorado?

There are thousands of uses for those. Just owning a home makes owning a standard mid or full-size pickup (F150 or GM1500) truck a fantastic convenience. They get 18ish mpg which is comparable to an Outback...can haul leaves to the dump and lumber from Home Depot, Christmas trees, bikes and sleds...and they ride like a car.

Are these on the outlaw-list too?

Might it be the driver?
Might it be young drivers? Or is it the 44 year old father of 3 teenagers on his way to a soccer tournament 2 states away too?

In my opinion, its not the car. It's the driver. Anyone agree with me on this? Anyone else think that BMW 3Series cars are found being stupid more often than Chevy Luminas because one of BMW's most key demographics for that car is 25 - 35 year old affluent males unmarried no kids? Might the offending demographic be males between 16 and 35 regardless of their vehicle choice? Camaro, fart-can Japanese buzz car, BMW 325, chopped Ford F150, or dad's Audi TT? I think the insurance industry might agree with this angle?

Am I nuts on this one?
