I want a simple "purist" car without airbags and ABS that is fast and safe and light, but the only way to do that is to get a "kit car" like the Noble M12 or a catterham 7 clone. Cobra clones could do this too, but they definitely were never know for being safe. You'd think it was illegal to sell a new car without airconditioning as standard. Is this the fault of the big automakers too?
How about we have some legends cars for the road. A legends car is a one-seat spec racer that uses a motorcycle engine. (They are normally exhibition races at redneck racetracks) They interest me because they are cheap and efficient. Something like that for the road should be able to get twice the mileage of a normal car, be half the price and twice the fun. Certainly more practical than a motorcycle. Some blinkers and lights and easier ingress/egress would make it ideal.
