I wish GM would see that their Saab division already has patented and proven some technologies which would make them competitive with hybrid cars.
The Saab Variable Compression (SVC) and Saab Combustion Control (SCC) technologies would have reduced emissions to extremely low levels (like a hybrid) and would have provided quite an economy boost over today's typical engines (like a hybrid) with the power output of a six-cylinder engine (unlike a hybrid).
The SVC five-cylinder 1.6 liter engine could output 250 bhp and 250 ft. lb. of torque.
It's not hybrid technology, but it has quite the same benefits. All GM has to do is look within. They already own the patents!
