...and foot firmly on the gas pedal, race forward in a suicidal game of chicken. Driving an SUV makes this much more effective. Perhaps blaring loud music with a louder subwoofer that shakes cars 40 feet in either direction helps.
Seriously, you did the safest and most logical thing. According to drving tests, you use the entire ramp to get up to speed, and you merge as soon as you can. You don't charge to the end of the ramp and cut in front of all the people who are politely waiting like they are supposed to.
