The whole concept of stop signs on lots of roads is stupid and forces people to do something that has no rationale and thus it just becomes a meaningless ritual. This also means that people don't look for crossing traffic - because they did the ritual stop and just start driving without thinking.

No, the normal right of way rules make much more sense.
