***As part of my continuing efforts to spice up this BB with some unique topics, here's another one...***
Do you think that cars made beyond the mid 1990's will be too much trouble to hold onto and maintain for the long term? With technology advancing as it has and increasing customer expectations causing manufacturers to really push the envelope with safety, styling, more power, and more efficiency, serviceability seems to have fallen by the wayside. For example, I've heard horror stories about performing seemingly simple repairs only to find out the engine must me removed.
I don't think I could try to keep my 2006 9-3 around for 11 years like I have with my 1997 Saab 900 S which is complicated enough, but still seems relatively serviceable.
What are your thoughts?
