It's kind of true but the sad fact is that other car brands have sort of caught up in building inferior cars, not that GM has improved.
But in all truth. If car makers would build cars with the exact equipment installed and nothing more than the cars had in the 60s and 70s it would probably be a good car.
Imaging if you shed all the nifty gadgets and power this and that, that you have in a modern car and go back to a 4 wheels with a body, chassis, motor and brakes and nothing more.
You would have a pretty good car.
Drive trains per see has been improved a lot but all electrical components that a car has today have not kept up with quality and it makes the whole car look bad when they start to fail one by one and the high cost of replacing them.
