Agree with this 100%. There are maybe a handful of cars being produced today that intrigue me - the rest, I just don't want all that extra BS. My brother in law has a nearly new 3 series, iDrive and all, and while the features are "neat," (for instance, oil level display), the fact that you have to navigate around the lcd for everything would drive me nuts. Push button start is nice 'ooo-ahh' feature, but again, why? I like the electromechanical experience of turning a damn key! I'd much rather put up with the quirks of my "old, ugly (as 95% of the gen. populace probably thinks)" 80s cars. My Viggen is about as new/complex as I can handle, and I'm 25...I shudder to think at what the state of the automobile will be in the decades to come.
End rant!
