oh I don't believe in the wild theories... however I do have a software background... firmware just software... I've seen, admit to being part of one in particular, screwups in the software that in the right set of circumstances things happen that were not supposed to happen...
Remember the fighter jet that had larger and larger osillations in controls at Edwards and the pilot had to punch out? later determined to be a software screwup.
Mars Lander that was calculated in meters rather than feet, or vice versa, and buired itself?
At one point cruise control resume didn't take into account how fast your were going when you hit it, and if you had been set at 70 mph, and were doing 10 mph and accidentally hit cruise... it would do it's best to get you there right now.
Just saying I'd like to see the car guys test that model, on the straight and level somewhere very safe, with all of the combinations of speed, control settings, brakes, etc... to test to make sure it's ok. Oh, do it with the save firmware revision too please.
Heard that the Iphone just had a firmware update... and killed all the music on the phone and had to have *another* update done. Yet such a simple piece of electronics, right?
