I'd suggest two sump pumps with separate float switches. They are often cheap and unreliable. I wouldn't trust thousands of dollars worth of storage to one, no matter how it's powered. Stage them for different heights of water and test them occasionally. If you can't make room for two, have a second one on the shelf ready to go.
Least expensive and lowest maintenance:
A battery backup is fine if your power outages are not too long (a normal car battery sized deep cycle is typical). You could install multiple 8D size (about 3x larger) deep cycle batteries as well with a trickle charger. That should run anything for a long time.
Most handy:
Automatic generator with automatic transfer. Just got one for one of our work sites from HomeDepot for $2400 (propane GE) Figure another $2K for the electrical work and propane hookup.
