There is nothing wrong with your driving style in the nieghborhood.

The kids playing in the street the day you came to a complete stop to avoid them, went home and retold the story as "Jimmy almost got wiped out by that Saab down the street." Never saying that it was Jimmy's fault, or that the Saab driver correctly came to a full stop to let the kids clear the street.

The mother jumped to the wrong conclusion and berated you without cause, a mother bear protecting her cubs.

Maybe next tieme she wil be looking out the window and actually see what the kids are doing, whether it is you or some other driver. Shoot, she may even deliver a plate of cookies as an apology if she learns the real story from someone else fairly soon.
