Great Thread!
99 Isuzu Rodeo...
My partner of years was always taking her Isuzu Rodeo for oil changes and simple MX and as I did most of those things on my Saab I was always saying ya know honey I can do that for ya!
Bought items needed, got underneath, drained and secured it. Replaced filter and refilled. Things were humming! albeit I had never even looked at her vehicle prior to this nor still care very much for Isuzus. So I happily secured everything and went out for a drive. About 15 yards later it doesn't wanna move and the engine was soggy. I'm like oh boy!?! Took a peek at the drained oil in the bucket and quickly realized of course it was well used tranny fluid.
I just dumped 5 extra quarts of oil in a filled engine and no trans fluid. No problem I thought, just drain and refill both. Oil went fine although I had to locate a large enough disposable storage for all that oil and buy more. What's worse was those Isuzu trans are filled inversely. It's pumped in not poured! A tow to the dealer, a few bucks and much later in the evening she was all done! Never touched it again. BTW, She drove it thru the winter and much to my chagrin purchased a volvo!
