I have never experienced this mythical place of electronic parts + helpful workers... to me Radio Shack's part business (even decades ago) was about selling carbon resistors, low grade 741's, + shoddy connectors + switches at exorbitant prices... maybe the business made sense in the days of tubes?

I can get just about whatever I want from DigiKey (or if not from other distributors) at an affordable price delivered within 24 hours to my door. Why would I drive to the mall?
