While they seem to sell a lot of phones and other stuff, they do have the miscellaneous little parts, or did the last time was in there. A couple of the guys know a fair bit about the back end of the store where the bits and pieces are, but it's a bit like going to a hardware store where you need to have some idea of what you're looking for.

I really don't "do" electronics, but I can figure stuff out. RS is good to have, but they seem to have less and less of the pieces they used to. Part of that throwaway society thing I guess, that another poster mentioned. Too bad. I guess people who understand electronics can just go online and find what they need, and RS just isn't competing there at the retail level. And they do charge too much for many things.
