there's no denying there is still value in the brand. Other manufacturers recognize there are lots of Saab loyalists out there. They also understand where Saab can fit into the market and what models it needs, assuming the brand is positioned and promoted effectively.
So picking up the pieces once the bankruptcy is finalized in the courts could work well. A company could buy the factory, brand, the dealer body, etc, for relatively short money and no legacy costs. They'd get tax advantages out of it for a few years while the brand is rebuilt using platforms and parts from other car lines.
Could well be that these guys have all been waiting for the bankruptcy.
