No Snaab,
first of all, I'm not trying - whatever it looks like - to offend you. I'm not saying that you're bad and I'm good. Deal?
Secondly...
Well, I was typing my reply to your previous post - and it was pretty huge one - when I came to 'responsibility' thesis, which intertwines with very popular 'government' and especially 'CRISIS' theses. Shortly afterwards I shrunk it to what you've just read above.
My point - and I'm trying to put it as delicate as I can - is that it is quite unpopular to be responsible these days:
- Whose decision is this?
- Board's.
- Whose fault is this?
- Theirs (the most brave ones can go 'ours' - and they have to be applauded in today's terms).
- Who made this crisis being a reality of nowadays?
- Government! Corporations! The Smoking Man! They did it, not me!
- Who approved that Law?
- Congress. I didn't do that, Congress did.
Oh... really? Be fair (at least with yourself) and say that it was MY decision to take that mortgage credit and it was ME who failed on analyzing MY ability to pay it back and I misunderstood the risks on loosing job and ability to refund money. Or it was ME who approved that $90K credit to that dude with unconfirmed $30K annual income. Or it was ME who failed analyzing market and finally spent that $1M (or $1B, whatever) in vain.
When did you hear anything like that the last time? I only occasionally hear something similar from Japanese, although they also seem to learn responsibility sharing - I'm still missing the news where some TEPCO executive would say that it's his fault on approving 7th Richter scale protection level in the area where 9th level does happen (and tsunami protection was designed to withstand waves up to 6 meters (20ft) high while there happened several 10-20 meters (30-60ft) waves tsunami for the last 100 years)
This (financial, if you like it this way) crisis will never end until we all learn to be responsible for ourselves. GM is just a good example of concentrated irresponsibility.
Zig
P.S.
In short: paying your taxes to GM does not differ too much - for me - from paying your taxes to illegal immigrants who can not and do not want to work.
