As others have said, I am sorry for your situation & much thanks for your advice & expertise on the board. I know how it feels, and it is never good, as I've been downsized twice before and in my current company have survived many rounds of downsizing, (same at the other companies till I finally got it).

I've got an indy Saab guy that I love... his shop rate is very reasonable & he does not mark up parts (or if he does, by very little) & knows when to use new OEM vs aftermarket, rebuilt or used parts. When my current '99 9-3 with 185K miles needs replacing, if I do replace it with another used Saab he will be one of the big reasons as he's a guy I can fairly trust & made it economical to do repairs on a 12 year old car with nearly 200K miles. He also services Volvo's, but it seems more slanted towards Saab, and he always has a couple of used Saabs for sale.

You can always get your foot in the water by finding another independent non-Saab indy garage to rent space from (perhaps on a per-job or per-hour basis) to give you time to build up a clientele & in the "free" time try finding, fixing & flipping used Saabs.
