You lost all credibility when you said "It produces infinitely fewer toxins when burned". Infinitely? So, it produces at most zero, and perhaps even fewer than none toxins? Maybe it's giving you a colon cleanse while you drive as well.
There are a number of immediately obvious errors and/or outright lies in your post. Your assertion that it reduces the gasoline used by 15% necessarily implies not a single drop of petroleum is used in ethanol production. What about the gas or diesel powered machines that till the field, harvest the corn, and apply the herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers? The fertilizers themselves are a petroleum product. The processing might be based on natural gas, or coal, but so what? It's still non-renewable energy being wasted.
Anyone who knows anything about agriculture knows corn is one of the worst crops for rate of conversion of inputs to output; you grow a giant stalk that is discarded, and keep only the seed pod of the plant. The fact that they use it to make ethanol in the US and Canada pretty much proves that whatever their motivations, improving efficiency or reducing energy consumption is not one of them.
Then there's the whole issue of using land we could be growing food on to harvest a mono-culture year after year that empties the soil of key nutrients, requiring more and more fertilizers just to keep production level, getting less and less efficient as time goes on.
